Organisation
The organisation of the LIMO is handled by six committee members of the FMF. Below, you can find an introduction to and a picture of everyone involved in the committee.
This year's LIMO is organised by the FMF, a study association manifested at the University of Groningen. The FMF acts as the study association for (Applied) Mathematics ans Physics at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Groningen.
Jard Nijholt || Chairwoman
Hi! My name is Jard Nijholt, and I am the chairwoman of the 2026 LIMO. I started my masters in Mathematics this past academic year, with a specialization in Mathematical Physics and a special interest in proof formalization in LEAN4. Outside of mathematics, I love making sudokus, baking and cooking, and I adore spending time with animals. I am so excited for the event, and cannot wait to meet everyone there!
Tijmen van der Ree || Secretary
Hey! I’m Tijmen, the secretary of the LIMO committee. I’m in the final year of my masters in mathematics, specializing in algebraic geometry and homological algebra. My mathematical time these days is mostly spent trying to understand 2 or 3 papers in a niche field of modern geometry, which is challenging but fun. I’m really looking forward to the LIMO this May, and I can’t wait to see many of you there!
Koen Waggeveld || Treasurer
Hello! I'm in my third year of the physics and mathematics bachelor's, and am outside of my studies I am interested in programming, machine learning and wearing orange beanies. As the treasurer for this edition of the LIMO, I have been working hard to get all of you free food throughout the Olympiad! I’m looking forward to having a fun mathematical day with you.
Marije Sinnema || Speakers' Commissioner
I’m Marije and I fulfil the role of Speakers’ Commissioner in the LIMO committee. My mathematical interests lie in the fields of geometry and topology and I’m currently working on my master's thesis within these areas, which I hope to finish by the end of this academic year. During my spare time I regularly hop between different hobbies, including reading, drawing and gaming. I hope to see you at the event!

Sido Hofman || Day Commissioner
Hello everyone! My name is Sido and I am a twenty-year-old Math student here at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. I love doing math, puzzles like sudoku and everything in between, but I also like to watch movies en video series every now and then. In the past I've competed in a lot of mathematical compititions, and I'm very excited to help organise this years LIMO event. I hope to see you there!
